The United States and God

Did God give land to the United States? I think the answer is undeniably yes.

Some folks have told me they don't find that in the Bible. Of course the Bible doesn't state that. The Bible doesn't call many nations by the same name we do today, either. However, to say that God never gave the United States its land is erroneous.

It's no secret that our destiny is tied into the destiny of Israel. History has proven that. After all, in 1948 the U.S. cast the deciding vote that gave Israel back its land. This is a topic I have preached on many times. There is no reason to not believe that God gave the U.S. the land we cherish so dearly.

This country was founded by Christian men who believed in God and built the laws on His word. The liberals have tried to distort history and say that's not so, but real history shows otherwise. When these men put their faith in God, God lead them to this land. He has watched over it, protected it, provided for it and blessed it for over 200 years.

The reason we are having so many problems in this country is that we have chosen, of our own accord, to turn from God. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says that if God's people turn back to him, he will hear their prayers and answer. In Ephesians 2, Paul explains that there is no dividing wall between Gentiles and Jews any longer. The blood of Christ was shed for all. We are then a part of God's people and if we turn back to him, and the love he has for us, it's not too late to save our great nation.

Saying that God never gave us this land and blessed us with it, or that Joshua 23 applies only to Old Testament Israel is wrong. Saying God never gave us this land and blessed us with it is like saying he hasn't blessed us with good health, the air we breathe, the families we love, the money in our pockets, the forgiveness of our sins, and the many other blessings he has showered us with.
