Don't ask, don't tell...

The federal government has passed legislation that repeals the 17-year-old ban on gays openly serving in the military. This is despite objections from the combat troops themselves who did not want the ban repealed.

This is being done in the name of social justice. Other things have been done in the name of social justice that have ended up being tragedies in the history of America: government assistance for illegal immigrants, legalized abortion, legal gay marriage (in some states), prayer removed from school, the ACLU being allowed to operate freely without consequences, and the Ten Commandments being removed from the court system. After all, God forbid a thief read "Thou shalt not steal!"

In the latest case of supposedly good intentions gone awry, our federal government will put openly gay soldiers into the military, giving special priviledges to a few and treading on the rights of the majority.

Our soldiers have enough to worry about without having the added burden of serving alongside those whose presence will be a distraction to the soldier trying to protect himself and his unit from the enemy on the field. This also sends a negative message to our youth: it's okay to be gay.

Let's throw out the nonsense here. People are not born gay. God does not make mistakes. He tells us plainly He knew us before we were even born. He is not going to create a less than perfect person. We are all created in His image, flawless. We make our own decisions. I chose to follow Christ. If I were gay, it would be by my choice, not by God's choice.

When we tell our youth that it's okay to be gay, we are telling them it is okay to sin against God. God calls homosexuality an abomination. That's a very strong word, and it literally means something that should not exist.

God loves us all, gays and heteros alike. What he hates is the sin. When a heterosexual commits adultery, God hates that sin. When a heterosexual commits murder, God hates that sin. When a gay person practices their lifestyle, God hates that sin. What God loves, though, is the person who commits the sin. That's why even heinous sinners such as Paul in the New Testament sin, God loves them and offers them a chance for redemption.

By allowing gays to serve openly in the military, we're removing some of the consequences for their actions. We're paving the way for our young people to be influenced by this sect of our society into choosing the path of homosexuality.

Not only have we placed our soldiers in greater jeopardy with these latest Congressional rulings, but we have removed one more barrier between the family and moral bankruptcy.

The United States and God

Did God give land to the United States? I think the answer is undeniably yes.

Some folks have told me they don't find that in the Bible. Of course the Bible doesn't state that. The Bible doesn't call many nations by the same name we do today, either. However, to say that God never gave the United States its land is erroneous.

It's no secret that our destiny is tied into the destiny of Israel. History has proven that. After all, in 1948 the U.S. cast the deciding vote that gave Israel back its land. This is a topic I have preached on many times. There is no reason to not believe that God gave the U.S. the land we cherish so dearly.

This country was founded by Christian men who believed in God and built the laws on His word. The liberals have tried to distort history and say that's not so, but real history shows otherwise. When these men put their faith in God, God lead them to this land. He has watched over it, protected it, provided for it and blessed it for over 200 years.

The reason we are having so many problems in this country is that we have chosen, of our own accord, to turn from God. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says that if God's people turn back to him, he will hear their prayers and answer. In Ephesians 2, Paul explains that there is no dividing wall between Gentiles and Jews any longer. The blood of Christ was shed for all. We are then a part of God's people and if we turn back to him, and the love he has for us, it's not too late to save our great nation.

Saying that God never gave us this land and blessed us with it, or that Joshua 23 applies only to Old Testament Israel is wrong. Saying God never gave us this land and blessed us with it is like saying he hasn't blessed us with good health, the air we breathe, the families we love, the money in our pockets, the forgiveness of our sins, and the many other blessings he has showered us with.

Gay marriage ban

The gay marriage ban in California, voted on by the people of the state, has been struck down by a liberal, activist federal judge.
The ruling hit late on Wednesday, after 3:00 p.m. Central Time.
The federal judge, a U.S. Circuit Judge in San Francisco, overrode the will of the majority of the people and instituted an unbiblical mandate on the people of the state.
It's not a coincidence that the ruling took place in San Francisco, hometown of super liberal Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House. Pelosi has been a vigorous supporter of the gay marriage agenda and a strong proponent of abortion, i.e. the murder of unborn children.
1 Corinthians 6:9 says Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind....shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Those like Pelosi and the federal judge in this case are leading thousands of people astray, causing them to sin.
2 Timothy 4:3 says For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
All folks want to hear nowadays is what strokes their ego, what feeds their lusts, and they are totally out of touch with the reality of God's love for them and his desire to see them saved. Christ didn't die for the fun of it, and he didn't die just so folks could reject him and go to hell anyway. He died so that everyone who loves and worships him could have that precious gift of eternal life.
If you aren't where you need to be with God, it's not too late. Open your heart, lift your voice in prayer, and ask Christ to become your Lord and Savior today. He's waiting for you. It's your move.

New breakthrough in AIDS research

Scientists are reporting a new breakthrough in AIDS prevention. This is good news, but it has a downside.

The study in South Africa said that using a gel prevented a woman from getting the AIDS virus in up to 50% of cases.

This is hailed as a wonderful development because it helps women whose partners won't use condoms.

First of all, if they aren't married, they shouldn't be having sex in the first place. Secondly, if the male partner won't use protection, the woman shouldn't be engaging in the sex act with him at all.

If we will return to a Biblically based view of sex, we will see a lot of problems in this country eliminated.

Immigration reform shouldn't be so hard

Why is immigration reform so complicated? There's no need for it to be so. Here's a simple history lesson: after WWII, President Harry S Truman sent the illegals home. Teddy Roosevelt did it after the Spanish American war, and it was done by Eisenhower after the Korean War.

Since Obama is bringing all of our troops home so rapidly, where will these troops work when they get home? Those who aren't full-time military are going to be returning to their civilian jobs, by law, and that will force many working to lose their jobs. Don't misunderstand me: every returning soldier deserves his or her job back, but with a failing economy, where do you think the unemployment rate is headed in the near future?

The reason prior Presidents sent illegals home was to provide jobs for returning soliders. In this day and age, not only returning soldiers, but everyday citizens need those jobs too. Obama, though, is too busy worrying over getting the Latino vote to be concerned about the lives of the soldiers who died to protect this country and to give liberal ungodly leaders such as himself the free speech right they use to desecrate our country.

Obama needs to either respect Arizona's law, which was actually written in accordance with the federal law that Obama is too spineless to uphold, or get out of the way and let someone who knows what they're doing solve the immigration problem
When questioned by the U.S. Senate on the issue of partial birth abortion, Supreme Court nominee Elana Kagan called it a "very difficult issue." There shouldn't be an issue here, there shouldn't be anything difficult about it. Abortion, in any format, is wrong!

Partial birth abortion involves killing the fetus well into its development, months after conception. The child is already formed with body and face, and yet our government has decided its okay to kill the child.

What blows my mind in this country is that people will rush in to save a litter of puppies from being put to sleep, or to prevent an abortion in an animal, yet rush to help a human kill their unborn. Rights groups scream foul when an inmate is executed for crimes against humanity, yet an innocent, unborn child shouldn't matter.

I know we will all give account before God on Judgment Day, but I wouldn't want to stand in the shoes of those who have promoted abortion, who've performed abortions, and who have failed to repent from having an abortion.
